When you think about it, lots of gods have occupied Earth over the millenia. Earth is like an apartment over an old saloon and every few millenia, the current tenant checks out to make room for the next one.
Looks like the old god just got bored or fed up with the landlord and decided to ascend, or descend or just move out. Or perhaps they got pushed out by a younger one who wanted room to party with his or her new fans.
God Checker has the god hit parade that’s pretty amazing. They even have a Top 10 list.
So what’s the point? I guess one day a paradigm shift will occur and there will be a New God in Town. Maybe life discovered elsewhere in the universe. Or the Cleveland Browns winning the Super Bowl.
In any event, if the current versions answer your needs, that’s fine. I just can’t help thinking about the next one. I guess I’ll clean up the apartment a bit just in case….
